Yamaha Electric Grand Piano
Can I hook up an electric piano to Garage Band?
Right now I have a DGX-505 yamaha electric piano. It’s a nice one nice and big, not a grand though. I just really want to be able to hook up my laptop to the piano to record piano tracks into it on garage band.
If this isn’t possible, is there any way to put a piano track recorded on the piano into the laptop?
My YPG-635 has a USB port, and all I do is thread a USB cable across. Of course, there’ll be some drivers you have to install (look at Google for that). If your keyboard doesn’t have USB out, look for MIDI out, and if not that, then you may be out of luck. Most electric keyboards these days have USB-out, though, so it should be fairly straightforward.
