most people think that learning how to play piano music for contemporary christian music is just a matter of simple fact , a conversion from classical music to pop music.it is true that if you are a well tranied classical music performer and you have all the theoratical background to succeed as a contemporary christian musician.
i know also many who struggle in such acheivement mainly becasue they are not used to play pop music with an ensemble of people made mainly of two groups.the first group being the band, the second obstacle being the church. It may happen that a classical trained musician will stay strict to performing a perfect performance based on music expessions, embelishments , correct time etc…now what if your bandmates are not as perfect as you are to all the music parameters as you are.if that is the case then it becomes clear that you need to to get to a compromise. you need to play but and follow your partners as well. you are a good leader but you do not need to abbandon your team.you need to adjust your playing to sustain the rest of the church singing.
basically to become a successful christian musician you need to be flexible and adjust to your bandmates and to your church.
