Piano Chords for Beginners
Piano chords are one of the basic building blocks for all songs. When you listen to your favorite artist playing the online piano chords, you must have analyzed the background instrumentals and the piano chords. These background instrumentals are basically various instruments with piano chords. When two or more piano chord notes are played together, we call it a chord. When you will learn different key signatures, at the same time remembering piano chords will take you to another world.
A beginner should always start with the C major chord since it is the easiest to learn and every other chord is based on the same pattern of C chord. If you are able to play a few piano chords then you can play any of the musical tunes of your choice. While playing the chords you will notice that the key of C share the fingering 1-2-5 because the distance between the two top notes that is G and C requires a distance between the fingers 2 and 5. The use of finger 3 is not suitable for most of the people. With piano chords you get the ability to create, invent and even arrange the chords in the pattern according to your needs. Generally playing the piano with the chord symbol is easy as compared to playing the piano with written notes. The chord symbols are a kind of notes that are often used in jazz music. To tell about the E6 chord, E is the root and in C7, C is the root. The piano chords can be of various types like minor, major, augmented, or diminished. The major chords are often used in happy, energetic songs while the minor chords are used in sad songs. But both major and minor piano chords are the three notes played together. But you can even make a minor chord from a major chord. To make minor piano chords, you simply need to take the corresponding major chord and lower down the middle note by one half step or semitone.
On your piano, the keys that are adjacent to each other are one semitone apart from each other. To lower a note by one semitone, you need to go down the next key on your left. When you see a number attached to the piano chord it implies you are just adding a note to that chord.
There are some rules for playing the ninth and the eleventh piano chords which need to be remembered. You can also include the seventh chord while you are playing these chords. Now you can substitute the ninth and the eleventh chords with the seventh chord. So now if you want to play C9 chord then you can play either a C chord or a C7 chord. Both these options will produce the correct result.
Learning a piano is an art but learning piano chords is a result of your hard work and determination. You need to learn some Piano chords which at times are a necessity. Once you know the basic piano chords, then you are set to produce the notes of your favorite music.
